It's an exciting time to be a Lightning fan. So many years of futility and disappointment. Trust the Yzerplan.

I trust the players and their motivation. Yzerman put this great roster together but not convinced he has a plan for the future. Go Lightning.

How Tampa won the Atlantic:

Everyone else sucked.

(and they are a pretty good franking team).

This will be the biggest issue I'll have playing the Penguins. All. Those. Trolls.

How do you guys stand on a trade revolving

Vasilevski
Drouin

for

Ryan Ellis
Kevin Fiala

This would have been fair value at the deadline, but right now i would not do the trade unless some picks come our way. Now its seems like Drouin and Coop have buried the axe. I would definetly do Ellis for Vasy and resign Bishop.

If they have expansion and only one goalie can be protected then you might move Vasy and I would do it for a package trade for a top draft pick and ride the entry level benefit otherwise don't move him at all. The kid really does need to play full time, I really think he's the type that is wasted as a backup.and might want to move to be playing as a starter.

I agree, the Isles fans were great, knew their hockey and didn't troll.

I don't see any reason to trade Drouin unless he still wants out. Especially if Stamkos bolts.

Is it me or do others have no concerns with ANY Western team? Personally, whoever wins the east wins the cup.

Yeah, Pens fans are definitely unique... but there are some good ones.

Sure they are all good and St Louis and San Jose would be tough, Dallas is a track meet and their goalie is playing better but still not enough D. Nashville is a sleeper but we have been there and for the most part the Pens core has too, no one else has the final experience which is a big factor.

Looks to be more parity this year. I think the goaltending in the East is currently much stronger, Dallas rotates goalies and the other three teams aren't getting amazing starts. Top 3 in GAA and Save % in the playoffs, having played the majority of your teams games, are Holtby, Bishop and Murray while the top 3 in points come from the West. If the East goalies keep it up the East will be tough to beat.

Not sure why Nash would want Vasi with Rinne already there. Either way I still don't like this trade

nice article

I would be concerned about any of the teams in the west. san jose is massive and so is st louis. nashville never quits and has a wicked goalie in rinne, and dallas would give TB a run for their money because it would probably just turn into a track meet and they don't need a lot of shots to find the back of the net.

Can't believe TB made it past the second round, it's like once the playoffs came they turned back into the team they were last year, and it is just god damn beautiful .

Of course Yzerman has a plan but not worthy of the title "Yzerplan". No Shanaplan type thing needed in Tampa.

I believe Yzerman had a Yzerplan while rebuilding the Lightning but now is in more of a reaction mode to maintain team standing due to salary cap, salary demands, trade demands and future expansion. Hard to believe the team will be better in the near future than this year's and last year's teams with these challenges.

Losing any of the core players will diminish team performance in the long run. Stralman and Stamkos being out of the line-up hasn't had a big impact yet but with the toughest 2 series ahead it certainly would be better to have them back.
